Planning Engineer
This position will be responsible to conduct power system simulation studies in line with Horizon Power's Generation and Network planning guidelines and Technical Rules to support Horizon Power's decarbonisation strategy.
Prepare Future Energy Systems plans to include renewable energy integration for Horizon Power's energy systems (generation, transmission, distribution) to meet long term needs in an efficient and sustainable manner.
This position is a 12-month maximum term position.
Your role will include:
- A relevant engineering qualification is essential.
- Experience in energy systems (generation, transmission and distribution) planning, design, operation and maintenance.
- Renewable energy technologies experience.
- Financial analysis evaluation principles and methodologies.
- Experience in commercial aspects of the energy industry.
- Energy systems technology experience.
- Project management techniques.
You will have:
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience in project management, social sciences, business, community engagement, Native Title, Aboriginal Heritage or related discipline is highly desirable or relevant work experience is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience working in an Aboriginal Affairs, Traditional Owner engagement, project management, or community-based role.
- Demonstrated experience liaising and negotiating with key Aboriginal organizations/bodies including: community, government, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and collaborate to support change management planning.
