About Your Opportunity
As the Planning Engineer – Asset Sustainability you will coordinate, oversee, and undertake planning and design for Asset Sustainability projects including renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements. You will deliver high quality design and project management documents for Sustaining Capital projects.
You will also ensure a thorough and effective management of transition of projects to Project Delivery team. Your skills and expertise will see you providing sound advice on Asset Sustainability projects to ensure a prudent and efficient delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate, oversee and undertake planning and design for Sustaining Capital projects including asset renewals, asset refurbishments, augmentations and improvements that enables the Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery Group to meet its obligations and deliver fit for purpose projects.
- Collaborate with Asset Management and Asset Planning teams, along with any other necessary teams, during the Strategic Assessment and Preliminary Evaluation phase of the Project Management Lifecycle.
- Prepare the scope of services/work and administrative documentation to hire consultants. Oversee the procurement process for design services, including defining scope of work, assessing proposals, and reviewing vendor submissions.
- Review and oversee consultant deliverables to ensure they effectively tackle key issues, offering efficient solutions that align with project goals and are completed within the agreed time and budget.
- Take charge of the entire design process, supervising concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages for asset renewals, improvements, and expansions, prior to passing them on to the Project Delivery team for implementation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline (Preferably Chemical/Process)
- Alignment with Seqwater values
Desirables
- Previous internship or work experience in water supply, water utility, resource, consulting firm, or related organisation
- Experience in linear infrastructure projects
- Basic understanding of hydraulic engineering principles and water supply systems
This position has a salary starting at $102,494 - $113,710 depending on experience plus 12.75% superannuation.
