About the role:
We are looking for a motivated planner to join our team. As a Planning Officer, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a diverse range of planning matters, while undertaking a range of responsibilities and tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Planning Department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Processing and reporting on development applications and subdivision applications.
• Preparing amendments to the Local Planning Scheme.
• Liaising with stakeholders including the general public, consultants and developers.
• Undertaking research and submitting reports into specific town planning matters.
• Receiving enquiries, complaints and correspondence from developers and the public and responding to these.
• Composing letters and preparing reports for various stakeholders
• Preparing documents and representing the City as appropriate before the SAT.
• Presenting statutory and strategic planning concepts in public forums.
• While this role has a statutory focus, there are opportunities to assist with project.
• work, including structure plans, planning policies, strategies, and guidelines.
About you:
We welcome applications from motivated and ambitious graduates or final year planning students who are passionate about a career in town planning and are eager to develop their skills.
To be considered for this role you must be a graduate or final year planning student, enrolled in a course that is eligible for corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
