Planning & Procurement Specialist (Procurement Focus)
Greenstock is Woolworths's end-to-end multi-channel red meat business,combining deep industry expertise with advanced analytics to deliver high quality and sustainable beef, lamb and pork to Woolworth's existing and new sales channels in Retail, Food Services, Wholesale and International.
What you'll do
As the Planning & Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for the procurement of supplementary raw material to service the demand channels - principally our Secondary Processing facilities together with foodservice and export.
- Benchmarking and forward forecasting the available supplementary supply within our supply base for a specific protein and the associated models.
- Utilising business-aligned negotiation approaches, achieve the most competitive purchase pricing given the demand that has been requested.
- Growing and managing the supply base with the aim of deeply understanding a vendor's business to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Assessment and allocation proposal of best primal optionality relative to channel demand over multiple forward time horizons.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure awareness of changes in product specifications, yield impacts, site export approvals and business constraints.
- Supporting the Finance Business Partners to assess changes in pricing at all stages upon overall carcass profitability.
What you'll bring
- A degree in agribusiness or procurement, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in planning, sales or procurement, preferably in temperature-controlled FMCG with a focus on the red-meat industry.
- Ability to monitor and comprehend the complex dynamics of global market pricing, ascertaining the appropriate benchmarks for negotiation and utilise business-aligned negotiation approaches to achieve the most competitive purchase pricing.
- With the data and tools provided, have an understanding of the best optionality for Greenstock's own Primary Production whilst balancing the need to fulfil raw material demand of the Secondary Processing facilities.
