The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Plant Operator to join our Networks team in Kidman Park SA, on a Permanent Fulltime basis.
Reporting to the Leak Repair Supervisor, you will assist in the safe and efficient delivery of field based tasks associated with the general maintenance of the gas assets.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the general maintenance of the gas assets including response to gas leaks, installations, disconnections and reconnections of services, alterations to mains, meters and general repair work to underground gas pipelines and other relevant Network Assets, e.g., regulators and meters, etc.
Ensure all work is completed and aligned to industry standards, in accordance with codes of practice, and company procedures by following the APA Technical work instructions, procedures, SWMS and safety processes
To work as part of an efficient team under the general direction of a Team leader, coordinator or Supervisor
Ensure the proficient and safe use of all types of manually operated equipment associated with excavation work
Establish and maintain a high level of customer service both internally and externally
Your background
Broad understanding of gas network operations procedures, gas codes, standards and Technical Work Instructions and Procedures relating to Field Operations tasks
Understands and demonstrates a high level of HSE compliance
Customer service experience including resolution of queries and complaints
Able to safely operate Excavator /Backhoe and or able to operate vacuum truck/trailer for the purposes of field work on gas assets
Current Driver’s License C, urrent Truck Licence MR or HR, evidence of competency operating Excavation machinery and medium level computer skill

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
