About the role
We have a great opportunity for you to join ELGAS as an Electrical and Instrument Technician. Based out of Port Botany- NSW, you will be responsible to manage and actively participate in the technical maintenance of the Cavern facility, find faults, and adhere to safety protocols.
Some of the key responsibilities in this role include:
- Maintenance of a wide range of Electronic, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Instrumentation.
- Diagnosis and repair of Instrumentation and control faults, interpreting & understanding Instrument drawings, (P&ID’s) Process and Instrument Drawings, and logic charts.
- Analysis and rectification of electrical equipment and electrical control circuits, interpreting & understanding electrical circuit drawings.
- Maintaining a high standard of maintenance and recording results in a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Adhere to the Site Safety Management System.
- Uphold ELGAS and Linde Group Service and Ethical Standards
You will have skills and experience including:
- Instrument technician/Electrical fitter (trade qualifications) with a full electrical license.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of modern field Instrumentation, process control systems, emergency shutdown systems
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of Electrical High Voltage(desirable) and Low voltage Distribution Systems.
- Excellent knowledge of (DCS) Distributed Control Systems, (PLC) Programmable Logic Controls, and (ESD) Emergency Shutdown Control Systems, including process control software programming.
- Hazardous Area Certificate to work on and inspect hazardous area equipment.
- 5 Years minimum industrial experience preferably in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Be available for emergency callouts and standby.
