About the role

We're seeking a Platform Automation Engineer to bring expert coding and configuration skills to our tolling domain, specifically focusing on Core Tolling, Billing, and Collections applications.

As our Automation Engineer you will collaborate with internal teams and technical experts to ensure the seamless execution of automation requirements, adhering to established standards and addressing application needs.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Design and develop new features and enhancements on the platform along with performing root cause analysis and defect remediation.
• Identify and implement performance improvements and other operational efficiencies to reduce operational costs and effort.
• Maintain and operationalise engineering code management within the Java platform application domain.
• Conform to source code branching and merging strategies for Java application platform.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends for the relevant technology stack.
• Provide input into other Core Tolling, Billing and Collections teams as they seek to implement user stories.
• Contribute to driving a culture of innovation across the organisation.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

• Highly proficient in utilising a broad range of automation scripting technologies, specifically Javascript and Shell Scripting.
• Practical experience invoking and interacting with enterprise Java web-based technologies, WebServices (JAX-WS) or Rest (JAX-RS).
• Experience in Batch Scheduling and advanced Cron Scenarios.
• Demonstrated expertise in Enterprise-level environments with Java applications, Server-side web applications, Oracle Weblogic Server, and Oracle Database 11g/12c.
• Knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and DevSecOps principles.
• Experience with development tools such as Jenkins; GitHub/Perforce; Eclipse; Artifactory; Ant & Gradle.
• Reliable, insights-driven, self-motivated, and able to handle the challenges of a varied role in a dynamic organisation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external personnel at all levels.
• A broad range of tools, languages and frameworks is desirable.
• Preferred qualifications include a tertiary degree in systems engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
