About the Role
The Platform Engineer provides oversight over, and is responsible for, developing, implementing, optimising, and maintaining Indue hosting platforms/services, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Central to its technical landscape and delivery capability, the Platform Engineer takes a leading role in the ICT landscape working collaboratively across the organisation to develop and maintain hosting solutions which support innovation and ensure the effective delivery of services to customers.
The key focus for the Platform Engineer is the efficient and effective operation of platform infrastructure which spans physical servers, VMware, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, storage, and backup technologies. Using traditional, automation and infrastructure-as-code techniques, the Platform Engineer will play a key role in maintenance, design and build of highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems for hybrid and multi cloud platforms.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Identification, definition, and implementation of required configurations to align to Indue standards and service levels.
- Prioritisation, sequencing and completion of day-to-day work items and role duties.
- Stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
- Delivery and support of operational infrastructure and systems.
About You
You will have all or majority of the following skills and attributes:
- 5+ years’ experience in Platform Engineering or similar infrastructure role.
- Strong skills and demonstrated experience in VMware, Kubernetes, and cloud (Azure/AWS).
- Demonstrated experience using DevOps practices and tools to deliver and manage infrastructure.
- High level of familiarity with both the Red Hat and Microsoft OS stacks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Following are preferred position requirements:
- Experience working in a complex environment supporting multiple parallel projects.
- Experience in the banking and payments industry.
- Formal/professional qualifications in a relevant discipline (i.e. IT, Computer Science or Engineering).
- Relevant industry certifications (VMware, Azure, Kubernetes)
