Job Description
Our Group Platform Owner role requires a servant leader, who empowers cross functional teams to take accountability for their delivery, risks issues and dependencies. The role works closely with Platform owners, senior leaders, partners and other IT teams to manage dependencies and clear impediments to effective and timely delivery of project features and on-going operational support. In this role, you will be both hands-on and tactical when required and equally motivated by developing and driving a strategic plan towards future state.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Work with senior business and technology stakeholders across TAL to establish key business drivers for change, business cases and establish a technology platform strategy and roadmap (including business motivation models) for the Group business.
  • Develop Enterprise & Digital strategies, investment prioritisation, operating models and organisational design and help deliver more digitised solutions for the Claims business line.
  • Support our business growth & retention ambitions by developing and engaging in our Tender / RPI responses with Partners.
  • As a Technology Platform Owner, you'll be responsible for the planning, coordination, management and successful completion of a complex portfolio of technology projects
  • Develop IT Simplification (including System Health and Decommissioning), Operational efficiency (including TCO) and technology modernisation and simplification programs.
  • Build and structure teams across business units to manage complex, multi-track delivery initiatives across a diverse range of technologies. You will provide purpose, direction and motivation to these teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships (expectations, communications, negotiations, escalations and feedback) with the senior business division leadership team.
  • Lead key technology strategy initiatives, innovation and idea generation and delivery of new solutions across TAL Technology & Innovation.
  • Facilitate project work planning sessions to enable appropriate commitment to and predictability in project delivery and that risk issues and dependencies within and across projects are effectively managed.
  • Working alongside Platform Architects, manage the development of target-state solution architectures, transition state architectures and overall strong
  • Input to platform roadmap to enhance the capabilities of the technology platform and ensure team can increase speed and quality of delivery through measurable on-going improvement in work practises.
  • Ensure risk management principles and practices are in place to mitigate key platform strategic and operational risks and underlying technology policies.
  • Input to the prioritisation process to optimise delivery of value to the customer as quickly as possible.
  • Facilitate Development Manager stand-ups and retrospective sessions, focusing on the use of best practices, apply lessons learned from previous projects, and ensure a positive, collaborative work environment for your teams.
Qualifications
  • Ability to think strategically, and articulate a clear vision
  • Highly developed analytical skills with a passion for solving complex business problems.
  • Demonstrable evidence of strong influencing, engagement and execution skills.
  • Exceptional communication, including well-honed writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Result oriented with ability to drive high operational efficiency
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to constructively challenge stakeholders on their needs to determine the best solution
  • At least 10 years technology management experience in successfully delivering end-to-end enterprise level technology solutions. You are likely to have a background in consulting, technology architecture, digital platforms delivery, or a unique combination of these disciplines.
  • Proven experience in delivering Agile and scaled Agile environments, including sponsoring and implementing CI/CD practices in delivery teams, including automated build, testing (functional and non-functional).
  • Significant experience managing and building effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation, particularly senior stakeholders (Head Of, GM and C-Level).
