DroneShield is seeking a Platforms Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, Australia.
The position will report to Platforms Team Lead.
The role is primarily focused on the development of infrastructure to support the DroneShield C2 platform, DroneSentry-C2 (https://www.droneshield.com/sentry-c2). The C2 platform combines data from different deployed sensor types and displays this information to the user in a meaningful way. Key technical challenges of the role include distributed system management, air-gapped systems, high data processing rate, cloud infrastructure and implementation of ML based services.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
Generate processes and build functions around the successful, continuous deployment of DroneSentry-C2 (drone detection platform) and in-field sensor network
Work with the rest of the software and wider technology team to develop solutions and provide insights into complex problems involving distributed systems, data engineering, security, and system resilience
Work effectively to find solutions for both on-prem (air-gapped) and cloud-based systems
High work ethic and the desire to take ownership over tasks/problems that may fall outside of your immediate job description / team
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
Experience working with at least one common programming language. Go, Python preferred
Integration and deployment pipeline with Gitlab, CodeBuild/Deploy
Experienced with Docker, Docker Compose and/or Kubernetes
Experienced with AWS and IaC
Automated configuration deployment using Ansible, Salt Stack or other
Experienced with Linux Operating systems. Comfortable working with the Terminal, Text Manipulation Tools, Process Monitoring, Networks, System Performance, Compiling Apps from Source, Bash Scripting
Strong understanding of Networking and Security, working with webservers
Demonstrable concise syntax with an appropriate, but not excessive level of documentation
Solid understanding of physical infrastructure and deployment
