Video Platform Engineer (Based In Australia Or Singapore)

We are looking for a Video Platform Engineer to join our VCOps team!The VCOps team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining distributed, massive-scale video environments across the globally distributed Pexip services. This includes developing the tools and functions needed to ensure the well-being, stability and performance of these. VCOps consists of a globally distributed team of engineers with a wide range of skill sets within various IT/technology areas, and we are looking to expand the team with passionate and autonomous individuals who enjoy system administration/monitoring and problem solving, and are not afraid to take on challenging tasks or to step outside of their comfort zone for achieving our next goals and milestones.At its core the VCOps team ensures reliability and availability of our service at all times, providing constant uptime for our customers. This requires continual oversight of the systems and responsiveness to outages. The VCOps team is tasked with a 24/7 on-call schedule that is shared amongst all team members. These duties are scheduled at a frequency conducive to a healthy work-life balance, ensuring that the individual can effectively respond to critical situations while minimizing disruptions to personal time.We expect this person to be based in either Australia (any state) or Singapore.To be successful in this role, you are likely to have experience in the following:

• Administration of cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc)

• Understanding of virtualization and virtual machines
• Understanding of differences between cloud-based virtualization and on-prem virtualization
• Administration and troubleshooting of video conferencing infrastructure (Pexip Infinity, CUCM, VCS, DMA, RPAD, etc.)
• Modern networking and how it’s applied on a global scale (GEO DNS, NAT, TLS, TCP/UDP, routing)
• Basic Linux administration
• Creating/maintaining internal documentation
• TLS certificate management
• Understanding of incident management processes

• Able to triage technical situations effectively and efficiently
• Able to communicate highly technical issues to non-technical people to explain why issues are occurring and what can be done to improve the situation

Not required but definite bonuses

• Experience building and deploying software on IaaS platforms
• Good understanding of real-time media transport protocols
• Experience with Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Avaya, Polycom, Zoom, Bluejeans, and other related partners/competitors in the visual collaboration landscape
• Familiarity with SIP and WebRTC
• Familiarity with creating dashboards and analyzing data
• Automating tasks using scripts and schedulers (ex: python, bash, powershell, cron, ansible)
• Deploying applications using serverless computing (ex: gcp cloud-run or azure functions)
