Play By The Rules Senior Education Advisor

The Play by the Rules Senior Education Officer will work with Play by the Rules stakeholders, including state and territory departments of sport and recreation, peak sport bodies, National Sport Organisations (NSO) and National Sport Organisations for People with Disability (NSOD) to deliver, promote and expand the education and training offerings Play by the Rules provides the sports industry. These include the Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training program, Play by the Rules eLearning courses, events, and educational campaigns.

The Play by the Rules Senior Education Officer will have an important role in developing stronger partnerships with sporting organisations (particularly national sporting organisations) to ensure a collaborative approach to the development and delivery of education projects and campaigns that add value to the work of sporting organisations addressing integrity threats to community sport, especially regarding discrimination, harassment, bullying and poor sideline behaviour.

The duties of the Play by the Rules Senior Education Officer include, but is not limited to:

• Assist with the management of the MPIO training program including:
• Working with Play by the Rules partners to support the MPIO training program.
  • Conducting ‘train the trainer’ sessions for MPIO workshop delivery partners.
  • Partnering with NSO/NSODs and state and territory departments of sport and recreation to deliver tailored MPIO training packages.

• Engage with NSOs, NSODs to identify new education partnership opportunities (e.g. eLearning courses, events, campaigns).
• Develop education content for Play by the Rules eLearning courses.
• Represent Play by the Rules at conferences and events.
• Supporting the National Manager – Play by the Rules with:
  • Delivery of safe, fair, inclusive sport media campaigns.
  • Development of content for the Play by the Rules website, magazine and email subscribers.
  • Identification of strategic and promotional opportunities for Play by the Rules.
• Assisting the National Manager – Play by the Rules in the development and implementation of sustainable business development plans, strategies and systems.

The key accountabilities of the Play by the Rules Senior Education Officer include, but is not limited to:

• Effective management of the MPIO training program.
• Maintenance and development of Play by the Rules eLearning courses.
• Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high performing team/organisation.
• Effective partnerships are established and maintained with key internal and/or external stakeholders to identify, lead and deliver high quality business outcomes.
• National Manager – Play by the Rules is supported in the development and implementation of sustainable business development plans, strategies and systems.
• Continuous improvement of processes and procedures to ensure Sport Integrity Australia maintains ‘best practice’ whereabouts systems.
• Ensuring compliance with the Sport Integrity Australia Act 2020 and Sport Integrity Australia Regulations 2020.
• Complying with all relevant legislation and Sport Integrity Australia work health and safety policies, procedures and instructions and Sport Integrity Australia ICT and Information Governance Framework.
• Ensuring the APS Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to all times.
