Our well-established psychology family clinic provides comprehensive services to our community. We proudly serve children and families from infancy to adolescence at our North Melbourne and Moonee Ponds centre
We seek a registered Play Therapist (APPTA approved or with a Master's in Play Therapy) to join our team. We offer a flexible working model with a minimum commitment of 2-3 days per week. Please note that all services are conducted on-site, and we do not offer off-site services.
Our Psychology Service is committed to providing comprehensive psychological support to children and families. We believe in the healing power of play and are looking for a skilled Play Therapist to join our team.
About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Play Therapist to join us with a caseload ready to take onboard.
- Provide play assessments
- Provide comprehensive reports, NDIS reviews, feedback, support letters,
- Conduct play therapy sessions with children to address emotional and behavioural issues.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the child's therapeutic process.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions and progress.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative, supportive work environment.
About qualifications
We seek an enthusiastic, charismatic, flexible, and passionate therapist with a strong advocacy to work with a family-centred practice. A practitioner who can work well independently, autonomously and within a team, innovative, proactive and with leadership skills who want to develop career growth and engages well in collaborating with others.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field, including counselling, psychology, social work, teaching, occupational therapy, art therapy
- Masters and /Post graduate in Play Therapy (desirable)
- Registration with the relevant professional association or body or ability to register with AAPTA
- Certified Training as a play-therapist
- Recognised or eligible for APPTA registration (PTUK/BAPT accepted)
- Behaviour under the Code of Ethics
- Working with Children Check
- Current Police check
- Minimum 2-3 year’s experience working in a children’s therapeutic setting
- Highly desirable ability to be registered as a Medicare provider
- Strong understanding of child development and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
