In March 2022 the NSW LGBTIQ+ Health Strategy was launched by NSW Health. Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD is working to address the key priorities of this strategy and has received funding towards our implementation of Phase one of the project. This includes conducting a scoping project to document and evaluate the range of initiatives and service models occurring across ISLHD and analysing where our gaps area.
We are recruiting an LGBTIQ+ Project Manager full time to work within the ISLHD Project Management Office to conduct this work. You will be closely supported by the Project Management Team and the LGBTIQ+ Project Steering Committee and will liaise with other LGBTIQ+ Project Managers doing similar work across NSW.
This is a key position that will be suitable for someone with project management experience who is passionate about LGBTIQ+ health and helping ISLHD work towards our goal of creating an environment of visibility, safety and inclusion across our health services. You will be self-motivated and autonomous and have highly developed analytic and problem solving skills.

What you'll be doing
The overall job purpose of the PMO Project Manager is to:
- To successfully manage and deliver Strategic Change Initiatives for the District which achieve significant Business Outcomes that generate business value Benefits.
- Managing the Change Initiative in accordance with the Districts Strategic Project Delivery Framework and mandated Governance Controls and Processes.
Build capability across the District in the use of best-practice Project Management and Governance approaches, through the provision of Leadership, Education, and Mentoring of colleagues at all levels.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

This is a temporary full time position until 1 September 2024 with the possibility of extension.
Selection Criteria
- Relevant combination of qualifications and work experience applying best-practice project and change management methodologies to bring about organisational improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to influence change, lead and motivate staff and stakeholders, including an ability to form effective working relationships with organisation Executive, clinicians, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, make and enact decisions for the benefit of the projects, and to be self-motivated to ensure the timely delivery of the project's outcomes.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills along with a demonstrated ability to pro-actively manage risks, use initiative, and facilitate positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership, education, and mentoring skills which enable improved capability in best practice project and change management at all levels across the District.
