Your Opportunity
As the Quality and Compliance Coordinator, you will:
* Contribute to the region's goal of market leading Vocational Education and Training (VET) delivery and services by developing and facilitating business systems improvement strategies that ensure the region's compliance with its Quality Management System (QMS), relevant legislation and standards.
* Identify the need for, and conduct audits against the region's QMS relevant legislation and standards.
This position reports to the Contract Manager.
This is a Temporary, Part-time opportunity, to 31 March 2025 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Cairns however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake risk analysis of suspected/identified business process issues and review, analyse and interpret documentary evidence to determine the extent of compliance with the QMS, Standards for Registered Training Organisation (SRTO), Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS), and International Standards Organisation (ISO) 9001.
* Develop an internal audit schedule and conduct compliance audits and reviews to ensure adherence by work teams to the QMS.
* Communicate outcomes of compliance audits and negotiate business process system improvement plans where appropriate with relevant stakeholders.
* Implement business system improvement mechanisms where appropriate to manage QMS compliance and provide collaborative solutions focused support and objective advice to stakeholders.
* Develop process work flows and write procedures, work instructions, policies, processes, guidelines and desk files to maximise efficiency and ensure maintenance of business systems.
* Work collaboratively and provide mentoring and support to managers, administrative and delivery personnel within the organisation by modelling the established TAFE Queensland values and the team's agreed behaviours
* Maintain currency of relevant training legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines.
* Actively engage with key stakeholders (such as industry, business and the community) including actively representing the region's interests in relevant state network meetings and other relevant forums/activities as required.
* Provide day to day operational supervision, support, and performance management of the Award and Support Staff, and activities (including Have Your Say (HYS)), and provide updates, data and reports, including contributing to the monthly Academic Quality report.
* Perform other duties, projects and tasks as requested by the line manager in accordance with Award requirements and capabilities.
How you will be assessed
Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

* Demonstrates ability to lead and conduct QMS and other compliance audits using research, analytical, conceptual, risk management and investigation skills to ensure that standards are met and maintained, results are delivered within specified timeframes and recommendations are made regarding the outcome of audits.
* Demonstrates strong capacity to facilitate and manage the collaborative development and/or revision of responsive and effective strategies and systems to enhance business process systems and practices.
* Demonstrates high level of communication and interpersonal skills including collaboration, negotiation, mediation, presentation, mentoring, training, conflict resolution and conceptual report writing skills, when dealing with internal and external clients.
* Well-developed project management skills including risk analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, dealing with conflicting priorities, maintaining workflows to deliver and achieve project outcomes, meeting deadlines, exercising professional judgment in a constructive manner and the capacity to contribute effectively both individually and as a member of a team.
* Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
