The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) is Queensland’s peak industry body for the minerals and energy sector including coal, metal, gas, explorers, producers and suppliers across the resources sector and is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Policy Advisor, Resources and Environment.
The position will contribute directly to QRC’s policy development and implementation with a focus on environmental sustainability, regulatory efficiencies, coexistence and land use, energy transition and ESG.
The Policy Advisor will provide input into the development and implementation of QRC positions across a wide range of Resources and Environmental policy matters, conduct research, prepare briefing papers and other written materials, as well as providing a secretariat function for QRC Committees and Forums. The Policy Advisor will also provide relevant input into policies and initiatives across all QRC’s strategic policy areas.
Working on concurrent policy issues, this is a demanding and satisfying position that will suit a highly self-motivated individual with an interest in the resources sector including environmental sustainability and regulatory reform.
The successful applicant will possess well-developed critical thinking skills as well as excellent analytical, written and oral skills. This role will suit an individual with 3 to 5 years’ experience in policy and legislation.
This position offers an attractive remuneration package which will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
