Address An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a motivated and flexible individual to join the Public Sector Governance team in the Governance branch as Policy Officer, Public Sector Governance at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Public Sector Governance team provides provides governance and policy advice to the Premier, ministers and senior executives.
As the Policy Officer you will work with a high performing team to advise on Cabinet submissions for appointments to boards, policy proposals and bills. The work is fast paced and includes providing advice across all government portfolios. You will work with stakeholders to represent the Department's view and build good relationships. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the longer-term strategic projects in the team and the Branch.
To be successful in the role you will have some experience in policy, and/or an interest in good governance and sound public administration, the ability to effectively plan and prioritise your work, and the ability to work well with others.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the inner workings of government, and apply your policy skills to a wide range of priority government initiatives.

Well-developed written communication skills and ability to prepare emails and briefings with close attention to detail.
Proven ability to plan, prioritise and complete set tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated willingness to be flexible, adaptable and resilient to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
