Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Strategic Policy and Assurance Officer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 6 months with a possibility of 6 months extension.

Position Description:
- Lead design and development of internal verification procedures to support Investigations Branch compliance with Australian Government Investigations Standards and relevant legislative instruments.
- Develop comprehensive policy, procedure, and user manuals to meet organisational standards, compliance with Australian Government Investigations Standards 2022, and relevant legislation.
- Monitor, review and uplift knowledge management and information management framework of the Branch and report on its effectiveness against BAU and operational deliverables.
- Develop innovative and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure capability development and tradecraft skills currency to operational outcomes.
- Gather, analyze, and report workforce data to inform effectiveness of existing systems and devise and advocate modernization of existing systems to achieve optimal operational competency and credibility.
- Develop standard operating procedures in a regulatory and/or law enforcement environment.
- Provide organisational governance support, including development and maintenance of internal practice statements, instructions, procedures, and guidelines, to enable and support the delivery of operational outcomes.
- Provide strategic and operational governance support to enable integrated decision making, leadership structures, management auditing and procedural development, as well as secretariat & committee coordination.
- Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.
- Support organisational change management initiatives by leading the assessment, analysis, development, documentation, and implementation of changes. Support implementation of organisational change smoothly as well as managing reactions to ensure a seamless transition during change.
