This vital role involves contributing to the strategic positioning of the portfolio by articulating and delivering on the clear links to the portfolio and organisational goals. An essential element is to develop ideas and test assumptions using analytical and investigative methods to identify drivers and recommend action to manage the portfolio within a dynamic and competitive environment.
What you'll do (not limited to):
- Make recommendations to manage the performance of the portfolio by leveraging the Underwriting, Product, Pricing, Customer and Marketing strategies
- Identify key actions that maximise the capture and retention of profitable growth opportunities and mitigate underperforming segments
- Work with the Pricing & Analytics teams to implement pricing changes, track results and provide feedback on success for continuous improvement /refinement
- Ensure the portfolio operates with the Group risk appetite (RAS) and is balanced across the various risk/exposure profiles to deliver a sustainable ITR in accordance with the business objectives of the brands
- Share knowledge and information with stakeholders to build understanding, support and ownership
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years' experience working in General Insurance
- Demonstrated experience of analytical, underwriting and/ or pricing practices
- Demonstrated understanding of portfolio performance, pricing fundamentals and a broader business view in decision making
- Problem-solving, risk assessment and strong analytical skills including the application of sound commercial judgement
- Well developed interpersonal skills and an ability to influence.
