  • Base Salary starting from $83, 454 + 17% superannuation (level A and or B - appointment depending on experience and higher degree qualifications)

This is a unique opportunity for a Level A and or B Research Associate or Research Fellow to contribute to important research focusing on childhood nutrition in South Asia region. The role will be embedded in Global health program with Dr Tanvir Huda.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Offer statistical and methodological support for the ongoing randomized controlled trial
  • execute all statistical analyses and provide assistance in scientific publications
  • manage data cleaning tasks, including data checking, and program output (e.g., tables/figures) using specialized tools like R and Stata for quantitative data
  • contribute to the statistical components and composition of research proposals (e.g., grants), encompassing tasks such as performing sample size calculations and drafting statistical analysis plans.
Additional responsibilities for Research Fellow (Academic - Level B):
  • Apply and enhance expertise in research methodologies
  • Conduct original research, either independently or as part of a team, within the designated field or area of expertise
  • aid in future grant applications and contribute to the supervision of PhD students.
About you:
  • Master's degree or PhD ( or submitting) in biostatistics or related areas
  • high level of knowledge of contemporary statistical methods for descriptive and analytical epidemiology
  • expertise in evaluating randomized control trials of health and nutrition interventions.
  • strong computer skills in relevant statistical computer packages, particularly Stata.
  • ability to work in a multidisciplinary academic team, and independently as required
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • high-level planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines.
  • demonstrated research track record of peer-reviewed publications.
