With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities. The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

JBS Australia's Caroona Feedlot are currently seeking a reliable Induction Leading Hand to join our Livestock team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Livestock Foreperson and Supervisor, the Leading Hand is an integral part of the Livestock team and will require someone who can follow procedures, problem solve quickly and communicate effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting and supporting the Livestock Forepersons with the implementation of JBS Australia policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety and quality assurance.
- Leading staff and maintaining a high level of staff training
- Processing, drafting and managing cattle
- Administering and maintaining records of animal health treatments
- Maintaining a strong commitment to QA, HR, WHS and Animal Welfare standards
- Efficient record management via computer programs
- Strong leadership skills
- High attention to detail
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- An understanding of cattle and low stress stock handling
- Experience working as part of a team
