About the role
As the School continues an exciting phase of growth, we are looking for a capable and motivated Post-doctoral Research Fellow to drive software design and computer vision research to develop and refine drone simulation software and visual analysis code as part of a successful grant with the Department of Defence obtained in 2023.The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow reports to the Principal Chief Investigator, Associate Professor Linda Matthews, in the School of Architecture in DAB. However, the PRF will work closely with Chief Investigator Prof Stuart Perry in the School of Electrical and Data Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT). The PRF will be located in an office in Building 11 supplied by the School of Electrical and Data Engineering in FEIT.

About you
As the successful candidate, you will have;
• Experience with research in an academic or industry setting in the computer vision/image processing field
• Knowledge in computer vision, machine learning, image processing, programming and statistical analysis. Experience with programming in MATLAB and Python will be an advantage.
• Completed a PhD
• Strong people skills and the ability to interact successfully with people ranging from university researchers to senior executives in ADF and the Defence industry
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $142,739 to $163,924 pa (Level C)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-timeand will be made on a fixed term basis for 18 months.
