We now have an opportunity for a passionate and experienced or early career Researcher to join our team within the College of Science and Engineering as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Aquaculture Macroalgae.- Full-time; fixed term to March 2025
- Academic Level A or B $73,551 - $103,238 p.a. + up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
- Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas.
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging researcher to guide and conduct research activities within a collaborative JCU National Seaweed Hatchery Network (NSHN) for Tropical Research of Asparagopsis taxiformis. Your role will help design research activities and conduct research into the propagation and aquaculture production of the red seaweed A. taxiformis to meet research objectives.

- Possession or recent submission of a PhD qualification or equivalent in phycology, aquaculture or molecular biology or a relevant discipline with laboratory and propagation experience.
- Demonstrable experience in the development, design and statistical analyses of algal focused studies relevant to aquaculture and reproductive biology.
- Evidence of research ability, including innovation, creativity and timely completion of tasks.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in statistical analysis and proficiency in the use of R statistical software is desired.
