This full time, fixed term appointment is based at the JCU Cairns Nguma-bada Campus in Smithfield.
How you’ll make a difference
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic research team. Working as part of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funded projects awarded to Dr. Phurpa Wangchuk, you will conduct cutting-edge research in drug discovery and metabolomics using natural products, immunoassays and spectroscopies platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and make a significant impact in the field.
What you’ll bring
- Completion of a PhD in immunology or pharmacological fields.
- Strong background in immunological techniques, pharmacological assays, and/or drug discovery.
- Demonstrated, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in providing research administration support such as grant or manuscript preparation, report writing, animal ethics application, biosafety application, agreements, permits and research finance.
- Proficiency conducting high-quality research, including overseeing research laboratory operations and projects, encompassing design, implementation, execution, record-keeping, and statistical analysis, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and an understanding of cultural sensitivities.
