We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Analyst to join our client, a leading Australian energy brand. As a Power BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our data migration strategy. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop custom Power BI solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Create and optimise Power BI data models, measures, and visuals. Collaborate with business users to develop insightful dashboards and reports.
- Monitor the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards
- Analyse data sources and identify key metrics for reporting
- Maintain thorough documentation of data models, report designs, and development processes
- Ensure that data pipelines and Power BI reports are optimised for performance. Monitor and manage any data issues that might affect data quality.
- Optimize data models and queries for performance and efficiency.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets.
- Report on key performance indicators including operational efficiency, revenue performance, and growth
- Maintain and improve on reporting tools, processes, and databases including Power BI and SQL based ERP/business systems
- Work closely with data architects, data scientists, and business users to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement and optimise physical data models for Azure SQL Data Warehouse that feed into Power BI datasets.
- Leverage existing and/or new technology solution sets such as Data lake/house ETL, Online/offline and operational processing patterns
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and M language.
- Strong understanding of data modelling and visualisation best practices.
- Experience in business analysis and product design, capturing and interpreting business requirements/ processes, designing and implementing business solutions.
- Extensive experience in efficient SQL development and query performance & tuning
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Broad experience and familiarity with AWS technologies (particularly S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, EMR, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis)
- Commercial experience in Cloud Data Warehouse Architecture, ETL, Reporting and other BI tools
- Experience operating with Enterprise architecture frameworks and concepts (TOGAF v9, SAFe, or equivalent certification)
