They are undergoing major transformations and seeking an experienced BI analyst. The BI Analyst will be working on one of the top initiatives to automate reporting across Investments and aid BI development / spreadsheet retirement roadmap.
Your new role
The BI Analyst – Investment Data Management reports to the Manager – Investment Data Management and will work collaboratively with teams across Investment Management (IM), Investment Execution (IE) and Project Execution and Governance (PEG).
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.
· Analyse data sources and identify key metrics for reporting.
· Design and develop data models that align with business requirements.
· Optimise data models for performance and scalability.
· Create visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
· Implement custom calculations and measures to derive meaningful insights.
· Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI.
· Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets.
· Participate in project working groups for development and implementation of business intelligence systems, processes, and reports ensuring quality, timely and accurate reporting of organisational performance.
· Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities.
· Monitor the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
· Identify and implement optimisations for improved efficiency.
· Maintain thorough documentation of data models, report designs, and development processes.
· Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
· Tertiary Qualifications in IT with 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role working within finance, investment or super domain.
· Expert on the MS Suite – PowerBI and MS Azure.
· Exposure to Paginated Report development and PowerApps.
· Experience building dashboards within Investment Management, Finance or Financial Services.
· Demonstrated technical competence and experience with business intelligence solutions, developing meaningful data visualisations, using Power BI or similar product
· Experience in business analysis and product design, capturing and interpreting business requirements/ processes, designing and implementing business solutions, with an appreciation of user interface considerations
· Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience and ability to ensure clarity of requirements and satisfaction with solution design
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
