The Role
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced PowerPlant Engineer to join Alliance Airlines in Queensland.
This role provides technical support of high value fleet engine and APU assets to ensure optimum safety, compliance, reliability and cost effectiveness to the business.
The successful person will report to the PowerPlant Manager and be responsible to ensure continued compliance all across the business, including maintaining the approved maintenance program for all engines and APUs within the Alliance fleet.
The Responsibilities
* Plan and maintain shop visit schedules, to ensure engine and APU supply is aligned to operational needs.
* Develop shop repair work scopes for allocated engines, and APU’s to ensure build life objectives and optimum ROI. Ensuring compliance with ADs, SBs or Alliance requirements.
* Review maintenance agreements to ensure repair proposal/s align to technical requirements.
* Review maintenance agreement with Powerplant Manager to confirm commercial terms are within defined parameters.
* Coordinate shop repairs of engines and APU’s to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards whilst maintaining close and accurate cost control.
* Monitor shop progress and report progress and findings during major shop repair visits to key stakeholders.
* Approve shop repairs for findings in consultation with the Powerplant Manager.
* Conduct technical Assessments and recommendations for major assemblies (Engines, APUs)
* Assist the Powerplant Manager with management of commercial agreements concerning Engines & APUs
* Provide technical support on major assemblies (Engines & APUs) to Aircraft Maintenance Organisation as part of the day-to-day operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
* Licensed Aircraft Engineer – Mechanical (Endorsements and experience of fleet types of distinct advantage) or Powerplant / Aeronautical Engineering / Aviation formal qualification with similar technical knowledge & experience
* Extensive aviation background, preferably in Australia
* Engine Condition Trend Monitoring.
Knowledge:
* Well-developed computing skills, particularly Microsoft office suite of programs
* Extensive gas turbine engine knowledge/experience, preferably workshop based.
* Ability to formulate Technical documentation.
* Ability to evaluate defects to establish cause and preventions.
