Location: Cairns servicing Cape York communities (FIFO Monday to Friday)
Status: Full Time Permanent (2 x positions available)
Salary: $104,901 – $114,988 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Practice Nurse will deliver comprehensive nursing services to the people of Cape York, as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position is responsible for the provision of Primary Health Care, health education, early detection of disease, effective management of disease, clinical support and mentorship.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A degree qualification in Nursing and current registration with the Australian Health Practice Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1
- Queensland Immunisation Endorsement
- Proven experience as a Practice Nurse or Registered Nurse in a Primary Health Care setting
- Demonstrated experience and competence in clinical problem solving at an advanced level
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate increasingly complex client care across the Primary Health Care continuum
- High level nursing knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
