We are looking for enthusiasticPractice Nurseto join the team at our busy General Practice on a permanent part time basis (4 days per week).
The ideal candidatewould havelong term goals in General Practice and a passion for primary care nursing. You will be caring, compassionate and empathetic in your approach to people. Providing quality care and high-level communication is at the forefront of your ethos. You are skilled at remaining calm in highly tense situations, have the ability to resolve matters pragmatically and work well in a team environment.
As this is a diverse clinical role, working across 2 sites. We require that the successful candidate has experience in Primary Health Care/emergency nursing, wound management, immunisations and managing people with chronic illness.
Key Responsibilities
You will be a vital member of the team contributing to the success of the Practice, with key responsibilities entailing:
- Wound Management
- Immunisations
- Procedures including ECG, Spirometry, iron infusion, assisting with minor surgical procedures.
- Health Assessment, CVC program and Chronic disease management
- Treatment Room & Stock Management
- Triage – over the phone and in person
- Infection Control
- COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Assisting with accreditation process
Essential Skills
- Strong communication and time management skills
- A caring and collaborative approach to patient care
- AHPRA registration
- Well-developed computer skills
- Current CPR/BLS certificate
- COVID-19 Vaccination training certificate
- Excellent work ethic with a demonstrable ability to be reliable and flexible
- Ability to cover extra shifts as needed
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
- Previous Practice/Primary Care/Emergency Nurse experience
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in Emergency Nursing
- Immunisation Accreditation certification
- Knowledge of Best Practice an advantage
