We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Div 1) who is a Nurse Immuniser to become an integral member of our fully accredited and computerised General Practice at Yarra Glen.

Working alongside a team of General Practitioners, Nurses and administrative support, you will be part of a professional team environment. You will have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts and in a fast-paced team environment… 
This position is permanent full-time or part-time (2 to 3 days per week).

The role may be required, from time to time, to commute between the Clinic and Residential Aged Care Facilities to give vaccinations to residents in Yarra Ranges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Immunisations:

• Administration or assisting with the administration of the COVID-19 and Flu vaccines
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with legislative, industrial and organisational policy requirements and standards in the areas of Work Health and Safety
• To monitor cold chain and storage of vaccines and to report and manage any detected breach of cold chain
• Maintain immunisation records, vaccine supplies and consumables
• Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to avoid any incidents or wastage
   

Practice Nurse:

• Assist and support GP's with minor procedures
• Management of recall and reminder systems
• Supporting GP's in chronic disease management- health assessments and care plans
• Stock maintenance and ordering
• Blood collection
• ECG and Spirometry
• Wound management
• Infection control & procedures
• Maintaining cold chain management systems
• Pre-Placement medical assessments
• Triage
   

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

• MUST HAVE PRACTICE NURSE EXPERIENCE
• Immunisation Accreditation certification will be mandatory
• Competence in emergency triage will be highly regarded, but not essential
• Proficient computer skills – knowledge of Best Practice an advantage
• Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated initiative, time-management & flexibility
