About Our ClientThe Shire of Corangamite is a local government area in the Barwon South West region of Victoria. Located in the south-western part of the state, it covers an area of 4,408 square kilometres has a population of circa 17,000.It includes the towns of Camperdown, Terang, Cobden, Timboon, Port Campbell and Skipton. It was formed in 1994 from the amalgamation of the Town of Camperdown, Shire of Hampden, Shire of Heytesbury, and parts of the Shire of Otway, Shire of Mortlake and Shire of Warrnambool.The council boasts of attractions such as Volcanic Lakes and Plains, 12 Apostles Coast and the Great Ocean Road Region.The business has around 200 head count and turnover circa $30mJob DescriptionThe Financial Services Coordinator will lead on-

• Coordination of the Finance, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
• Support successful business partnerships with key internal stakeholders and identify improvements to financial performance.
• Support innovation and the development of efficient processes and technology by the team and within Council relating to Financial Services.
• Provide oversight and management of Councils capital works program.
• Support good governance of Council by ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of regulatory, statutory and management financial reporting, including preparation of:

-Annual Statements of Accounts;
-Annual Budget
-Long Term Financial Plan;
-Monthly finance report;
-Routine Budget performance monitoring;
-External agency returns including; Grants Commission and Essential Services Commission Returns;
-Accounting and acquittal statements for funding received by Council;

• FBT and GST process.
• Provide systems administration and staff training on financial applications such as Technology One.
• Provide oversight of treasury functions including investment of surplus cash funds and loan portfolio management.
• Revision of relevant finance policies.

The Successful ApplicantThe Financial Services Coordinator will require-

• CA/CPA Qualification
• Previous experience of Tech1 - desirable but not essential
• A track record in supporting or managing a team previously
• A passion to support a Local Government - experience across the sector would be beneficial

What's on OfferThe client is offering the range of $100,000- $110,000 package plus 1 RDO per fortnight.
