We are seeking a dedicated Gambling Help Service Practitioner to provide counseling support to individuals, couples, and families affected by gambling-related issues. This client-focused role involves assisting clients in addressing problematic gambling behaviors, understanding the impacts on themselves and their loved ones, and identifying underlying factors contributing to the issue.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role you will need:
A Bachelor’s degree (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology or counselling or a diploma (AQF level 5) in counselling and demonstrated experience.
Demonstrated experience working in a human services field
Demonstrated experience working with individuals, couples or families in a therapeutic context.
It would be a bonus if you have:
A post graduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology or counselling.
Experience in community engagement; community education, and cross-sector liaison.
What you will be doing
Providing high-quality, responsive counseling and support services for individuals, couples, and families affected by gambling-related harm.
Conducting comprehensive screening and risk assessments to ensure client safety.
Collaborating with other services and making appropriate referrals based on client needs.
Developing and delivering group-based therapeutic and relapse prevention programs.
Establishing networks, referral pathways, and collaborative partnerships with relevant external services such as Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD), Mental Health, and Domestic Violence (DV) services.
Ensuring accurate entry and maintenance of client records into RASA's Client Information System.
Adhering to confidentiality principles and relevant information sharing guidelines.
Contributing to the development of culturally relevant services and integrating cultural considerations into training, supervision, and counseling practice.
Assisting with curriculum development, project management, and research initiatives related to problem gambling.
