About the Role:
Attention all dedicated Primary teachers seeking a new challenge! Join us as we partner with a small Catholic Primary School in Hoppers Crossing to offer a unique teaching position.
Working within the junior years, join a teaching team of 6, as a full time Learning Enhancement teacher, dedicated to supporting students academically, assist with planning and modelling, taking small groups of students on a needs basis and contributing to the success of this junior cohort, from now until the end of the year with possible 2025 opportunities.
Key duties:
- Facilitate small group instruction sessions focused on literacy and numeracy, employing research-based instructional strategies and resources to promote student learning and engagement.
- Regularly monitor and track students' progress in literacy and numeracy skills, using assessment data to adjust instruction and provide timely feedback to students and their families.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, other support staff and parents to coordinate interventions and support efforts, sharing insights and strategies to best meet the needs of students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in literacy and numeracy instruction, continually refining and enhancing teaching strategies and techniques.
- Analyse assessment data and other relevant information to identify trends and patterns in student performance, using data-driven decision-making to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
- Advocate for the needs of students with literacy and numeracy challenges, collaborating with school leadership and support teams to ensure that all students have access to the resources and support they
Skills & Experience:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in Primary teaching in Australia
- Experience working with a Catholic school advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
