Primary Products Inspector

Velisha Farms is an integrated horticulture business with a varied grower base, supplying a variety of vegetables to major supermarkets and wholesale markets nationally. We are looking for a Primary Products Inspector to support our Quality Assurance Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated worker with a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety for our business.
The successful applicant will have great communication skills and proven on the job experience maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders across the fresh food supply chain.
What we are looking for:

• Current qualifications in quality assurance in the horticulture sector or a related field

or
3 years on the job experience in quality assurance in the horticulture sector

• Driver's licence
• A valid Police Check
• Keen observational and investigative skills
• Have good monitoring, communication and reporting skills and a positive, professional manner
• Work independently and have excellent time management skills

Your tasks will include:

• Inspecting fresh vegetable produce to identify quality issues and provide advice to the quality assurance team
• Audit and monitor quality procedures in the processing facilities to ensure compliance with required standards
• Ensure that required standards of hygiene are observed at storage, processing and packing facilities and in transport vehicles
• Advise on the identification of pests and diseases pertaining to grading, packing and loading of products
• Support the quality assurance manager

In return, you will be offered an attractive salary in a full time role, working Monday to Saturday.
