SalaryDicky Bill Australia Pty Ltd Dicky Bill Australia currently has a position vacant for a Primary Products Inspector for their farm located in Victoria. Main Responsibilities: Planning harvesting and other aspects of production processes. Coordinate harvesting team.
Inspecting of plants in the stage of pre-planting to look for quality issues & disease issues (Plant Health). Monitor quality procedures at farms, food handling facilities, and processing plants to ensure adherence to government and industry standards. Collect and test samples of produce to assess quality, size, purity, and compliance with standards.
Communicate effectively with field technicians and planters in order to be able to obtain relevant and precise information (location, isolation, stage of crop). Ensure proper hygiene practices are followed at storage, processing, and packing facilities, as well as during transportation. Advise primary producers on disease eradication strategies, economic implications, and health impacts of diseases and impurities.
Inspect Crop: Provide guidance on identifying and managing pests and diseases. Advise on regulations related to grading, packing, and loading of products. Examine imported plants, and products for compliance with quarantine regulations.
Make necessary arrangements for quarantine. Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing results, and enforcement actions. Prepare reports for regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
Skills required for the role: The successful candidate should possess the following attributes: Ability to make accurate observations Comfortable working with computers and other current technologies Excellent communication skills/ interpersonal skills Excellent supervisory and organizational skills Ability to hire, train and oversee many field worker In return you will receive: Package: $70,000 - $75000 per annum plus superannuation Position: Full time (38 hours a week) Ongoing support from our team Requirements of position Have at least an AQF Diploma level qualification plus 2 years relevant work experience.
