Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) are delivering capability to the Australian Defence Force by uniting the best Australian and South Korean technology and practices.
HDA is nearing completion of a $170 million manufacturing facility known as the Hanwha Armoured Vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE), next to Avalon Airport in Geelong, which will bring high technology vehicle manufacturing back to the region.
Under Stage 1, the 32,000 square metre state-of-the-art facility will initially be focused on the production of Hanwha’s AS9 Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and AS10 Armoured Ammunition Resupply Vehicle (AARV) under LAND 8116 Phase 1 Protected Mobile Fires program.
Stage 2 design has commenced and will see the facility expanded to fulfill the Australian Army requirement for 129 Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), under LAND 400 Phase 3.
The plant features a 1,500-metre test track, deep-water test facility, obstacle course and purpose built Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI / EMC) chamber, one of the most advanced in the region.
Your new role:
We are seeking a Production Quality Inspector to join our team and will be responsible for ensuring quality and inspection checks to ensure works carried out are verified and reflected in work instruction sheets. The role is responsible for conducting inspections at various stages of fabrication, assembly and finishing processes to identify defects, deviations and/or non-conformances. The role also includes aspects of QMS development and root cause analysis with ensuring corrective actions are taken and escalating of any issues within the production area to relevant management personnel.
The role will also be required to travel to our Hanwha Korean production facilities to shadow Korean production staff to learn how to perform quality audits on vehicle.
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Trade or engineering qualification in manufacturing/production discipline.
- Certificate in Quality Assurance and Auditing will be highly beneficial
- Experience in a similar role previously within the quality or production area
- Experience with modern quality assurance systems
- Previous exposure to ERP/MRP Systems
- Experience driving a safety culture through safe work practices.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings and data packs correctly.
- Ability to complete relevant inspection requirements including completing detailed reporting and performance records
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to use initiative, investigate issues, collect, and analyse data and to make recommendations on solutions.
