Teaching Aides & Special Needs
Four days per week
KTC is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Teacher Aide with a passion for working with students with additional learning needs. The ideal candidate will have an understanding, and passion for supporting children with literacy challenges. Training and professional development will be provided.
Specific requirements:
- Provide targeted literacy intervention for individual students
- Support the socio-emotional needs of the students
- Have the capacity to create and implement Individualised Learning Plans in collaboration with the Head of Learning Support and the in-school support team
- Document one on one lessons
- Support students to achieve learning and socio-emotional goals
- Work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
- Demonstrate an ability to write proficiently (documentation and reports) and to support students from Years 3 to 6 with their written expression skills
- Prepare resources and materials for teaching
- Motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning
- Have a passion for teaching all levels of Primary School, with a focus on Years 3 to 6
- Willingness to work in line with the college ethos
Desirable skills:
- Ability to follow direction and prioritise
- Interpersonal and communication skills in working with a diverse range of staff
- Ability to maintain the quality of assigned work
- Experience working in a teaching/learning environment
- Proficient IT skills
