Your opportunity
As the Principal Advisor, Respectful Relationships Education (RRE) you will:
* Manage the activities and resources of the directorate to effectively develop and implement strategic policy and initiatives related to diverse learners, students with disability and student inclusion.
* Assess strategic issues and provide expert advice and support to the Education Futures Institute Director Capability and executive management to enable quality executive decision making.
The Principal Advisor, RRE reports to the Far North Region.
Your role
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Prepare and provide high level advice and support to senior officers of Education Futures Institute with respect to the development and state wide implementation of strategic policy initiatives as they relate to diverse learners, student guidance services, students with disability and student inclusion.
* Initiate, lead and manage teams and projects to successfully develop strategic policy, guidelines and state wide service delivery implementation plans in the areas of diverse learners, guidance, student services, students with disability and student inclusion and wellbeing.
* Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary inclusive education processes and assessment and reporting procedures occurring at a state, national and commonwealth level, with a specific focus on diverse learners, guidance, students with disability and student inclusion and wellbeing.
* Implement and evaluate environmental scanning to identify policy gaps and develop appropriate response strategies, including the preparation of major policy papers, briefings, reports, submissions and articles.
* Establish performance and accountability frameworks including indicators, measures and reporting regimes related to student services support, and impact and influence on regional schools.
* Provide leadership with respect to the strategic direction, activities and priorities of the directorate and ensure the effectiveness of directorate policies, standards and procedures.
* Monitor, analyse and evaluate activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals and to inform future planning.
* Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of specific funding and manage reporting requirements.
* Establish and maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration processes with Queensland state schools and regions, together with major partners and other relevant agencies and stakeholders.
