The position:

As the Principal Advisor, Respectful Relationships Education you will manage project activities and resources of the directorate to effectively develop and implement strategic policy and initiatives related to diverse learners, students with disability and student inclusion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and provide high level advice and support to senior officers of Education Futures Institute with respect to the development and state wide implementation of strategic policy initiatives as they relate to diverse learners, student guidance services, students with disability and student inclusion.
  • Initiate, lead and manage teams and projects to successfully develop strategic policy, guidelines and state wide service delivery implementation plans in the areas of diverse learners, guidance, student services, students with disability and student inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary inclusive education processes and assessment and reporting procedures occurring at a state, national and commonwealth level, with a specific focus on diverse learners, guidance, students with disability and student inclusion and wellbeing.
  • Implement and evaluate environmental scanning to identify policy gaps and develop appropriate response strategies, including the preparation of major policy papers, briefings, reports, submissions and articles.
  • Establish performance and accountability frameworks including indicators, measures and reporting regimes related to student services support, and impact and influence on regional schools.
  • Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of specific funding and manage reporting requirements.
  • Develop, lead and maintain key communication channels such as websites, tele links, newsletters and email groups, as well as facilitating required professional development activities for school and regional office personnel.
