About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. The region is home to the stunning Bunya Mountains, where you can enjoy spectacular rainforest walks, nights by the fire in hidden chalets and the best scenic views Queensland has to offer. The South Burnett region is renowned for its great wine, gourmet foods and recreational facilities such as Lake Boondooma and Yallakool tourist parks.
About the role
- Based in Kingaroy
- Maximum Term (Up to 12 Months) Full Time
- $90K - $105K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking an advisor to provide advice and guidance on human resources activities including but not limited to recruitment and selection, training/development, performance/grievance management and organisational change, as well as interpret policies/procedures and awards/certified agreements. This role will coordinate and monitor daily activities of the team and assist the manager in the development of the branches strategic and operational plans. The successful applicant will have a high level of experience in a human resources environment, overseeing multiple functions, and maintaining confidentiality, with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a human resources or similar discipline at
Diploma level or above - Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence
- General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certification (White
Card)
Desirable Qualifications
- Membership of an appropriate professional association, e.g. AHRI

Skills and experience
**Please address the following key selection criteria items below, as part of your application**
- High level of experience in a human resources environment with the proven ability to research and analyse human resource issues and provide appropriate advice.
- Demonstrated award interpretation skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including working knowledge of employment related legislation/ Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy including sound initiative and judgment when assisting with sensitive people issues.
- Experience overseeing multiple functions within HR as well as the supervision of staff (i.e. undertaking performance reviews, encouraging team performance, addressing/resolving issues).
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels.
