Hays are currently working with a well-known utility entity in WA and seeking a Principal BI Engineer to work across multiple business areas and projects whilst leading the technical delivery of cutting-edge BI solutions.
Your new role
Lead and develop the BI Engineering strategy and planning function
Define the BI Engineering roadmap which addresses business data & analytics needs
Plan, develop, and manage the implementation of ongoing BI Engineering solutions required for business projects and programs
Lead the delivery of BI Engineering solutions across data product prototyping as well as data production industrialisation.
Provide expertise regarding the business benefit, technical solution, and operation impact for BI engineering.
Lead the analysis and definition of complex business needs and translate into BI engineering requirements and designs.
Adopt a partnering approach and collaborate with other work areas to build seamless end-to-end organisation functionality.
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience using databases and data warehouses and developing data transformation processes that produce data models (e.g., star/snowflake schema, OLAP) for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Extensive experience with the design, data modelling, development, functional and data quality testing of static reports.
- Extensive experience engaging with business stakeholders to elicit and analyse business requirements for reporting solutions and transcribing them into technical requirements.
- Considerable experience building solutions using cloud-native data and analytics services with relevant experience in AWS/Azure.
