Eden Ritchie is seeking a Principal Business Analyst to review the status of the existing Internal Audit Branch (IAB) Data Strategy 2019-2024 and develop the IAB Data Plan for 2024-2030 and analyse departmental data plans/strategies to ensure the new IAB Data Plan is aligned with the future direction of the department for the use of data to assist in the delivering the Department Strategic Plan and the Excellence and Equity education strategy.The Principal Business Analyst, reports to the Audit Manager, Internal Audit Branch, Office of the Director-General.

- Development of the IAB Data Plan for the period 2024-2030. This will include:
- Taking ownership of solution design and work with various stakeholders to finalise a compatible design based on industry best practices.
- Providing high level of expertise in establishing and documenting IAB Data Plan through a range of structured research and analysis techniques including, but not limited to facilitated stakeholder workshops, surveys, client meetings and industry reference reviews.
- Taking responsibility for ensuring traceability is mapped and agreed for all data plan elements through to system and business requirements.
- Obtaining formal agreement from stakeholders on the scope of requirements (including translating them to features, epics and user stories and associated acceptance criteria).
- Where required, will initiate communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups and facilitating open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
- Taking responsibility for investigative work to determine business, and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and IAB organisation change.
- Actively participate in the management of client expectations in a limited resource development environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the demonstrated experience in conducting workshops, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, ICT Operators and other service providers.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and validating multiple requirement types such as Business, systems, configuration and concept and experience modelling business processes using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse business cases, which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or change processes and associated business risk.
- Demonstrated experience and practical understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and PRINCE2 Project Management methodologies. (SDLC & PRINCE2 Methodologies).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Business Analyst role or a role requiring managing active software development cycle.
- Ability to rapidly gain an understanding of business needs and translate business needs into updated process maps.
- Experience in business process reengineering/redesign and implementation.
- Experience in change management.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a focus on simplification.
- Highly effective client liaison and workshop facilitation skills.
- High level written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with little supervision and as part of a team in the design, preparation and delivery of solutions to clients.
