Are you a Cloud Engineer with technical experience in performing cloud platform management and enhancement activities in an enterprise or service provider environment?
The Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group's (QGCDG) focus is to grow a thriving digital economy in Queensland, and enable more responsive, simple, and effective services for all Queenslanders. They provide strategic and policy leadership for Queensland Government on digital, customer experience and service delivery matters. They also support agencies with design management, capability development, corporate shared services, and customer service channels.
Data and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) is a centralised and secure whole-of-government area within QGCDG. DAI aids government agencies to find solutions to complex challenges through analytics and provide policy and business advice on
how to manage, use and publish data.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Cloud Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of our cloud infrastructure. Who you are
This is a high-impact role for an experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with technical experience in performing cloud platform management and enhancement activities in an enterprise or service provider environment. You will have experience working with end-to end Azure analytics services, including data and analytic tools and technologies including Azure SQLDB, Synapse, ADLS, Databricks, and App Services.
Beyond your technical capabilities, we value your proactive mindset, and your ability to understand customer business drivers and thereby identify risks and opportunities for improvement in management infrastructure, tools and procedures and participate in agreed improvement activities and risk treatment.
In this pivotal role, you will not merely manage but inspire and influence. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional communication skills who can lean into complex conversations and offer technical solutions that creates buy-in from stakeholders with varying technical and non-technical backgrounds.
