Azure Cloud Engineer

The Role: Azure Cloud Engineer 
Contract: ONE Year + a further ONE year extension 
Location: Brisbane CBD 
 
In this role, you will play an important role within our clients strategy and technology team, responsible for offering direct business and after-hours technical support, as well as contributing to the design, testing, and implementation of various systems across the business.
 
After-hours - on-call Information: 
Each Azure Cloud Engineer is scheduled for after-hours on-call support for one week out of every four. During this time, you are eligible for an on-call allowance of $30 (including GST) per weekday and $50 (including GST) per weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). If you fulfill a full week of on-call duty, you will receive a total of $250.00 (including GST) for that week.
 
Desired experience: 

• Proficiency in handling diverse technologies and tools, including open source platforms.
• Extensive experience in managing Microsoft Azure systems and operations, particularly Azure DevOps.
• Proficient in scripting, especially PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and supporting Infrastructure as Code (IoC) using Microsoft Bicep.
• Familiarity with frequent, incremental testing and deployment methodologies.
• Expertise in automation tools and various monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Dedicated focus on achieving customer and business objectives, with a commitment to continuously improving service quality.
• Emphasis on collaboration, open communication, and encouraging teamwork.
• Great understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices

Required: 

• Relevant industry accreditations such as Microsoft Certifications.
• Four to six years system administrator/engineering experience.
• Experience utilising Microsoft products and services including SQL server and hands-on experience with cloud hosting environments, in particular Microsoft Azure
