We have a fixed term fulltime opportunity for 23 months within our Rollingstock Engineering (Electrical) team in the role of Principal Electrical Engineer NGR.
This position leads the NGR ATO (automatic train operations) and PSD (platform screen doors) technology design review, coordinate testing and engineering certificates of compliance processes, for delivery of the CRR tunnel operation.
Typical day could involve a mix of:
- Providing expert technical advice and assurance on strategic direction for the design, modification and upgrade of NGR.
- Review of design documents such as testing and commissioning procedures and results for compliance.
- Participation in Engineering Workshops and Meetings.
- Scheduling testing and managing resources and work with internal and external stakeholders to support this.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of NGR trains and ETCS / ATO/ PSD systems with sufficient experience to manage engineering support.
- Ability to self-directed and able to take lead on tasks.
- High level skill in documentation requirements, auditing, fault finding and design.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.

Candidates at the time of application will be able to demonstrate that they currently hold the below qualifications and meet the employment eligibility requirements:
Hold a Professional Bachelor Engineering – Electrical/Electronic qualification which is recognised under the Washington Accord or demonstrated by ‘an entry to practice competently’ having been awarded to you by Engineers Australia and accepted by Queensland Rail.
Due to the timeline of the requirements for this role, we will only be able to accept candidates with unrestricted eligibility to the be employed within Australia.
Position Description
This is a PT5 level engineering role with annual base salary starting from $155,500 plus Superannuation.
