Role description:
Due to consistent growth and with works commenced on new project wins, our Urban Development & Regeneration division is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our team in Brisbane.
Role accountabilities:
- Managing designs and teams to develop and implement the highest level of technical delivery for our clients;
- Actively support the business in pursuing new work opportunities;
- Providing technical advice, direction, and overview of the day-to-day delivery of Urban Development/ defence projects, as well as meeting agreed budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets;
- Building effective and enduring relationships with other teams and technical disciplines, Arcadis offices and external organisations to foster co-operation and maximize cross-sell and trade-up opportunities;
- Working in collaboration with other design teams and disciplines to ensure the integrity and quality of the overall design;
- Managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensure effective communication of any changes/modifications;
- Championing the involvement and inclusion of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) in work for the business by ensuring that staff understand the benefits and requirement of the inclusion of the GECs as a seamless part of our service offering; and
- Actively lead the development of junior staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life and want to be part of city-shaping projects. You are a tertiary qualified engineer with extensive experience in Urban Development design and come to us with:
- Relevant degree (preferably in Civil Engineering) recognised by a relevant Industry Association or Institute – Chartered professional status or equivalent and a post graduate qualification will be highly regarded, or alternatively, are actively working towards chartership;
- Australian Government Security Clearance will be highly regarded;
- Extensive industry experience including supervising aspects of a project, application of standards and technical knowledge within the Urban Development and Defence market;
- Ability to provide technical expertise and direction through consultative support and effective communication to the teams;
- Ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop large to medium scale, diverse project teams;
- Experience of working in multi-discipline teams and/or project teams on major complex projects;
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally; and
- Proven understanding of local government, state government and Federal government/ Defence standards and guidelines required for planning and development.
