Principal Environmental Consultant - Approvals, you will support the environment and society service line with delivering environmental assessments and studies on a variety of major projects including natural resources, chemicals and technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure. This role will suit a person with strong communication skills and problem-solving ability, together with experience in the full-stage delivery of State and Commonwealth approvals and established relationships with regulatory authorities. Our team supports delivery of major and mid-level projects throughout project life, offers secondments to partner with our clients and completes packages of work from our offices.

Principal Environmental Consultant - Approvals to join our team in Perth.The role responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality environment related approval documentation, primarily for onshore projects.
- Providing leadership on the selection, qualification and development of scopes of work, manage scope delivery and performance.
- Participation in, or facilitation of, State and Commonwealth government regulator meetings.
- Developing approval strategies for a variety of major projects and customers.
- Technical assistance in preparing detailed proposals to assist in securing a steady stream of approvals-based work.
- Input technically to early phase engineering projects, site selection studies, environment in design advice, environmental impact assessment and environmental risk identification.
What you’ll have
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, Environment Law, or related fields of study.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Western Australian and Federal environmental approvals legislative regime.
- Desired experience coordinating environmental approvals (i.e. EP Act Part IV impact assessments, Part V works approvals and licensing, EPBC Act referrals and Environment Plans in the in the resources sector or similar industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, stakeholders and teams with proven track record of delivering environmental approval projects.
- Experience with regulatory authorities such as the EPA, DWER, DMIRS and DCCEEW.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills and the ability to engage effectively and build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
