About the Roles
Melbourne Water has 4 very important roles working with a range of stakeholders to shape the integration of water and land for key projects, precincts and places. We work to imagine, create and contribute to the delivery of great places for communities now and into the future. An urgent need has arisen to support this work and we are looking for strategic urban planners and policy professionals with a passion for leading project teams to deliver outcomes in complex Land Use and organisational settings with a range of stakeholders. We are looking for expert professionals with experience and/or interests in:
- Major urban renewal precincts across Melbourne
- Shaping whole of city strategy to respond to flood risk and the water cycle
- Statutory systems and legislative requirements for the governance of flood risk for Land Use planning
- Coordination and governance of policy processes
- Plan, deliver and evaluate strategic Land Use planning projects
- Engage internal and external stakeholders, partners and customers to strategically identify and plan appropriate Land Use planning opportunities
- Coordinate policy development to support the optimisation of benefits that Melbourne Water land and waterways provide to the Melbourne community
- Communicate the role of Melbourne Water in contributing to Land Use planning outcomes
- Demonstrated track record of strategic Land Use planning and Land Use Planning policies, legislation and procedures
- Knowledgeable about storm water and floodplain management or Integrated Water Management would be desirable
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders to build, maintain and improve relationships
- A highly motivated person who enjoys working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
