Job description
Key responsibilities- Review state and local government planning documents to assess their implications for Transport and Main Roads and provide response to those documents on behalf of the Region.- Provide specialist advice in respect to the application of the Planning Act 2016, Transport Infrastructure Act 1994, Economic Development Act 2012 and State Development Assessment Code.- Manage development projects throughout their life cycle to ensure the Department's interests are appropriately managed in a timely and well organised manner.- Assist in the co-ordination of all relevant tasks to ensure successful completion of activities within time, quality, cost and stakeholders expectations.- Apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements in respect to development assessments, road corridor management and transport planning.- Liaise and consult with a range of internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to road infrastructure development activities in the region.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised tertiary institution which is acceptable for full membership with the Planning Institute of Australia.
Requirements of the role- Ability to independently apply detailed knowledge of Statutory Planning principles.- Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards.- Exhibits strong communications skills and ability to adjust message to resonate with different stakeholders.- Ability to analyze available information, evaluate possible solutions and take appropriate steps to mitigate risks in a timely manner.- Desirable: A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
