Thuringowa State High School is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal to lead our school. This is a temporary full-time position commencing 15 April 2024 until 21 June 2024, unless otherwise determined. Since 1987, Thuringowa State High School has provided high quality educational opportunities for students from the Upper Ross River catchment and the Townsville community.
The school motto of 'Promoting Achievement' challenges students to achieve quality outcomes in all areas of their education.
The school values inclusive learning and collaborates with families to providing academic support for all students and has a dedicated student wellbeing team who provides assistance, support and guidance to help young people overcome barriers they may face.
Thuringowa State High School offers a wide range of academic and vocational education subjects for students as well as an established sports academy program and theatre restaurant. A new multi-purpose centre and health sciences centre will be opened in 2024.
Thuringowa State High School is also home to the award winning program Global Tropics Future (GTF) which provides authentic STEM opportunities directly and virtually for students.
